I should say that both my son, Stephen, and our family are so lucky that we choose Oxford Learning Centre. After four month learning in Oxford, Stephen has mastered his phonics and has learnt some math concepts. He has also developed fine motor skills with help of Oxford. Coloring and tracing is easy for him now and he can sit down quietly to do so. What’s more, Stephen is very polite to greet others and he knows how to behave well in class now. I have never imagined he can do it before 5-year-old. And as you know, he is only 3 year and 4 month old now. Mandarin is the first language for Stephen as used in his daily life. In order to let Stephen be in English environment earlier, we sent him to full time daycare when he was 21 month old. After more than one year in daycare and pre-school, Stephen can understand and communicate with teachers and friends well. But since there are more than 20 kids in one class, every kid can gain little focus. In Stephen’s age, focus is very important, especially for mastering some skills like fine motor skill. At that time, one of my friends recommended me Oxford, which is a wonderful institution for kids, especially small kids, to improve learning ability. With the help of Oxford, her daughter was admitted by West Point Grey Academy kindergarten 2 years ago. Stephen started from twice a week of Beyond Tutoring Program in August 2015 and then added one more Little Reader Program in October 2015. With very small group, one tutor over two to three kids in Beyond Tutoring Program and small group, one tutor over five to eight kids in Little Reader Program, Stephen can get a lot of focus and he improves learning ability quickly. Oxford brings Stephen to a new world. He can express himself better using oral words and drawing. I keep on reading books to him and I can feel he is more interested in listening to the stories than before. Every time, when Stephen is singing the songs learnt in Oxford Little Reader Program happily during playing at home; Every time, when Stephen enjoys doing homework from Oxford; Every time, when Stephen is eager to go to Oxford; Every time, when Stephen is polite to others, I feel so happy. We are very happy at Oxford Learning in Kitsilano. My son has made steady progress, learning something new in reading, writing and math during each session. He has regained an interest in learning and his confidence has grown. The staff and teachers at the centre are very friendly and accommodating.
