A quiet lounge during the week where you can play a game of pool for free and just kick back. The authentic German Swiss food here is great. If you are a schnitzel lover then this is the place for you . If you are looking for a young and trendy place to hang out then this is not it. Their liquor prices are crazy cheap and their food is super reasonable as well. I keep coming back here as its in my area and though the decor is a bit dated as in English pub style its very clean and cozy.

Beautiful location next to the lake. The hall is a perfect size for small to medium size parties and functions. I had a birthday party here, and it was a great time. Great value. A hidden gem.

Thank goodness some people with foresight and vision saw the opportunity that presented itself when the Shaughnessy Golf course closed in the 60s. Saving a good chunk of the land from developers, the Vancouver Foundation, the Province and the City of Vancouver worked to establish this gem on part of the land once occupied by the golf course. The results are now here for all to see with charming little paths winding among the impressive variety of plants, shrubs, bushes and trees that are all carefully labeled throughout the grounds. There's even a fun and challenging hedge maze! The restaurant is a lovely place to go for a meal and the gardens seem an ideal spot to hold a wedding with great places for photo ops throughout the gardens. And Van Dusen continues to improve with a new visitor centre being built for 2011. The other thing that must be mentioned as a must see is the light show they put on every Christmas. Huge swaths of the gardens are lit up with thousands if not millions of lights. This is all complemented by a musically choreographed light show that happens regularly on the main pond. WIth snack booths offering hot chocolate and other goodies it is a great way to indulge in Christmas Spirit. Visit Van Dusen Gardens and enjoy a little tranquility in the middle of the city!

My boyfriend and I had brunch here recently. The service was excellent. The food was the best and displayed very nicely. I would recommend coming here to eat a quality fabulous meal at such an affordable price.

This gem of a place is an ideal spot for a wedding in Vancouver or any other kind of party. Their are very few venues like this one with a great dance floor and a historic feel. Surrounded by beautiful gardens the Stanley Park Pavilion offers many places for pre or post wedding photo ops. With the Vancouver Aquarium and Stanley Park Train close by there are also options for your guests keep their little ones entertained. For the price, food and service, Paradise Banquet hall was the best option we found while we were searching for a hall. There were no different pricing from different days, no sharing of halls with other weddings/events. Best of all, Paradise catered the food to exactly our tastes and preferences (meaning no butter chicken standard fare), everyone loved the appetizers. The washrooms were extremely clean and well kept throughout. Thank you Douglas and Paradise Hall, we were extremely happy!

We stayed in this hotel last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have booked another week this year as well.
It is a little tired but beautiful . A real tropical feeling in the atrium rooms that overlook the pool. Restaurant food was just ok and very over priced. Snack machines were great for off hours. Pool deck could have been monitored for cleanliness nightly, and with just a quick pick up of wet towels, and garbage as well as a quick mop would have made it so much more inviting. when the Security and desk clerk are sitting with nothing to do.
But overall we loved it and would recommend it for sure.
